Remote battery optimisation · VPP control

Already own the battery?
Put it to work.

Stake remotely optimises compatible commercial batteries — regardless of who supplied, installed or owns them. You keep the asset. We run the intelligence to reduce costs, unlock VPP opportunities and help constrained sites serve more load.

01 · One control layer

Your battery.
Stake's optimisation.

We connect to compatible battery platforms, learn how the site uses electricity, and dispatch within the operating limits you agree with us.

01

Energy price optimisation

Charge when electricity is cheaper and discharge when it is more valuable, taking account of site demand, tariffs and available solar.

02

Demand management

Respond to site peaks and reduce demand charges where the site's load profile and network tariff create a worthwhile opportunity.

03

Increase site throughput

Discharge the battery alongside a constrained grid connection to supply short-duration peaks — enabling more simultaneous EV charging sessions or higher industrial loads without drawing all the required power from the grid. Available uplift depends on battery power, stored energy and the site's electrical and network limits.

04

VPP-ready control

Coordinate compatible batteries as part of a flexible fleet and respond to eligible market opportunities when the site and market arrangements allow.

05

Monitoring and reporting

Track battery availability, dispatch, state of charge and performance with a clear operating record for each controlled site.

02 · How it works

Connected in four steps.

No change of ownership and no replacement battery. Remote onboarding is included for compatible brands; integration fees may apply for other brands.

Step 01

Check

We confirm the battery, firmware, communications, metering and site configuration are compatible.

Step 02

Authorise

The battery owner grants Stake permission to monitor and control the nominated system.

Step 03

Set limits

We agree reserve level, export limits, operating priorities and any critical site requirements.

Step 04

Optimise

Stake begins automated dispatch and continuously monitors the site's operating performance.

03 · Pricing

Pay by site and battery capacity.

One base fee for each site, plus a capacity fee based on the usable energy storage connected at that site. Remote setup is included for compatible brands.

$99 per site+$0.19 per usable kWh

Prices exclude GST. See the Battery Control Service Terms.

kWh
Estimated monthly service fee $149/month
$99.00 + (261 kWh × $0.19) = $148.59

Indicative service fee only, excluding GST. Capacity is confirmed during review. Onboarding is included for compatible brands. Integration fees, onsite hardware or electrical work may apply for other brands and are quoted before work begins.

04 · Built-in guardrails

Control without giving up control.

The battery's safety systems and network limits always take priority. Stake operates only within the settings agreed for the site.

Reserve your energy

Set a minimum state of charge for backup, operational resilience or an expected site event.

Protect the asset

Dispatch respects the compatible system's operating envelope and the agreed cycling and power limits.

Pause when needed

Planned maintenance and customer overrides can take priority when the site needs direct control.

05 · Common questions

Before we connect.

Can Stake control a battery it did not install?

Yes. Stake can control a variety of compatible battery brands installed and owned by customers, property owners or other asset owners. The exact model, firmware, communications and owner permissions must pass a compatibility review.

Can a battery increase the power available to my site?

Yes, during suitable high-load periods. The battery can discharge alongside the grid connection to support more simultaneous EV charging or higher industrial loads. It does not change the site's approved grid connection rating, and the available uplift depends on battery power, state of charge, site controls and electrical and network limits.

Is there an onboarding fee?

There is no onboarding fee for compatible brands. Integration fees may apply for other brands or where a site requires additional hardware, metering, electrical work or a custom integration. Any applicable fee is quoted and approved before work begins.

Do I need to switch electricity retailer?

Not always. We assess the site's retailer, tariff, metering and market arrangements as part of the compatibility review. Some market services may require a compatible retail or market arrangement.

Can I keep battery capacity for backup?

Yes. We agree a minimum reserve and other operating priorities before control begins. Available backup performance still depends on the battery's installation and technical configuration.

Are savings guaranteed?

No. Results depend on electricity use, tariffs, solar production, battery availability, market conditions and site constraints. We assess the opportunity before enabling control and report actual operating performance.
